Day 21 - Šiauliai, Lithuania - A Day Off
Tony's View
We had a day today to explore Siauliai. We got out around 11:00 and walked to Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral. Here is a picture of the outside of the Cathedral.

On the side chapel in the Cathedral was this dedication to Divine Mercy and St. Pope John Paul II. There were relics of JP2 and Saint Faustina in this side chapel. We stayed a little while and prayed here.
On the outside of the Cathedral was this crucifix that I think might be nice to make for our lot beside our house. 👍

On this plaque for a cemetery there was a statement, "Many prominent figures are buried in the old cemetery: teachers, priests, engineers..." There were others too, but after engineers who cares. 😂😂

This is a monument for the Liberation. You can see an amphitheater around it where they would gather to unite for Liberation from the Soviet Union.

From there we went to an outside bar on the lake for a drink and a beer. As you can see Joan is excited to show off the Choice One bag, especially since they are paying for our trip.👍👍

While sitting there, we saw many jets doing maneuvers and we hear them all day long. We also hear them plenty loud from sitting in our Airbnb. However, I doubt many are complaining about the NATO noise, since they like the protection.

Joan decided to hide under this wild wolf along the lake hike😀
Joan's Extras
Thought I'd get a picture of Tony enjoying his beer with his Lithuanian buddies today.
Also, as we were walking around the park, the maintenance crew was mowing. This scared little critter was hiding because it probably lost its home.
I’m starting to sense a common theme here. Tony’s impatience followed by biking challenges which culminate in church visits topped off with a pastry and beer nightcap, often with a side of rain.
